After more than 60 years of development, the school of Mechanical Engineering has become a modern engineering school capable of fostering undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of mechanical engineering. The construction area is more than 20,000 square meters, with a total value of instrument and equipment of 40 million yuan. The School has a total of 72 faculty members, including 7 professors, 27 associate professors. Among them, 29 have doctoral degrees.

Machinery
This discipline originated from the programmes of hydropower station, dynamic set of water energy, thermal power plant and other programmes set up at the beginning of the establishment of Jiangxi Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power in 1958. Now it has developed into an application-oriented discipline with hydraulic machinery as its main feature, and focusing on the combination of industry and university, and the transformation of achievements.
The discipline consists of three main research orientations, which are Precision Drive and Sensing, Robotics and Its Applications, and Fluid Machinery and Measurement and Control.
