Jiangxi Provincial Engineering Research Center of the Special Reinforcement and Safety Monitoring Technology of Hydraulic & Civil Engineering in Jiangxi Province is a provincial-level major innovation platform established in December 2014 upon the official approval by Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission. This Center takes Nanchang Institute of Technology as support, serving the safety monitoring and reinforcement of hydraulic and hydropower engineering, architectural engineering, road and bridge engineering, subway and tunnel engineering and other buildings (structures) as target, and provides safety monitoring and reinforcement technology service for major hydraulic and civil engineering in Jiangxi. We now have 47 scientific research staff, including 10 professors, 25 associate professors, 23 doctors, 2 distinguished Yaohu scholars (including 1 Yangtze River School, thousand-person plan), 1 candidate for state-level and 1 candidate for provincial level millions of talents engineering, 1 young and middle aged academic leader in Jiangxi Province, 3 young and middle aged backbone teachers in Jiangxi Province and 1 person obtaining special allowance of the State Council. The Platform owns a laboratory area of 3000m2, 1800 pieces of scientific research and teaching apparatus and equipment, including over 100 sets of large apparatus and equipment valuing over 100 thousand yuan, total value of the equipment is 25 million yuan and the technology equipment is advanced. In recent years, we have obtained 74 scientific research projects, including 8 national natural science foundation projects, over 40 provincial and ministerial level projects, with total scientific research funds of over 20 million yuan; we have published 163 academic papers, including 79 SCI/EI retrieval papers, published 6 treatises, obtained 10 authorized patents for inventions, and have successively obtained 1 second prize of science and technology achievement of higher institutions in Jiangxi, 1 third prize of science and technology progress in Jiangxi, 1 second prize of excellent engineering investigation of Ministry of Nuclear Industry and 1 third prize of science and technology of China Highway & Transportation Society.
Our Center plans to solve the following major engineering technology problems:
(1) Geotechnical underground monitoring and reinforcement technology
Side slope and dam optical smart health monitoring technology in hydraulic and civil engineering; deep and large-span diversion tunnel disaster monitoring technology of large hydraulic and civil engineering; new technology for geotechnical engineering reinforcement construction.
(2) Urban water safety risk analysis and guarantee technology
Safety risk analysis and guarantee technology of secondary water supply; information system establishment, detection and repair technology of urban underground water supply and drainage pipeline engineering; water quality testing and quality control.
(3) Safety monitoring and control technology of structural engineering
Disaster prevention and reduction technology for large-span space steel structure; disaster prevention and reduction technology for multilayer and high-rise steel structure; safety reinforcement, monitoring, control and pre-warning system R&D of hydraulic metal structure.
(4) Road and bridge engineering testing and reinforcement technology
Bridge engineering testing and maintenance reinforcement technology; road pavement structure detection and evaluation technology; recycling utilization technology of road pavement materials.
This center starts from serving national and regional industrial demand, cultivates and improves self-independent innovation ability, establishes the “bridge” between industry and scientific research, researches and develops key generic technology, accelerates the transformation of research achievements, facilitates industrial technology progress and sincerely provides high-quality technology service for enterprises and public institutions in and out of the province.
